We examine an incident in context with the "real life" environment in which it occurs. For example, we evaluate machinery as it performs in the factory, rather than in the ideal setting of a manufacturer's showroom. Such investigation - both of the equipment and its immediate environment - yields data that are more complete and reliable than those produced by a narrow study of specific machine functions.
This dynamic analytical approach continues at regularly scheduled meetings, where the entire Consulting Engineers & Scientists, Inc. staff reviews current cases and discusses findings. The "cross pollination" arising from this exchange of multi-disciplinary engineering viewpoints often results in fresh interpretations of incident causes.
